Retinal Diseases

Retina Diseases and Surgeries

The expertise ranges from the most frequent diseases to the rarest diseases.

Diabetes

The optimal management of ocular complications of diabetes requires advanced skills. Through his experience in the field, Professor Saleh provides the best possible care. He is in particular the expert French editor of the medico-surgical encyclopedia of the chapter: Surgical treatment of diabetic retinopathy cf ref.

Diabetes is a growing disease. Its ocular repercussions are multiple. The most significant is diabetic retinopathy.

The patient is therefore subject to 2 major risks:

  • Diabetic retinopathy responsible for tractional retinal detachment, intraocular hemorrhage and risk of neovascular glaucoma.
  • Diabetic macular edema with accumulation of fluid in the retina responsible for visual loss

Optimal treatment requires a combination of these procedures:

  • ARGON laser treatment. Panphotocoagulation (PPR) of the periphery and macular laser of the center of the retina.
PPR laser and macular laser guided by angiography or OCTA. The procedures are performed in consultation with local anesthesia by drops.
  • Performing intravitreal injections and perfect mastery of the different therapeutic regimens that allow personalization of the treatment.
  • Diabetes eye surgery, among the most complex surgeries. Requires the highest level of skill and extremely capable hardware.

Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD)

As with diabetes, the management of age-related macular degeneration requires perfect mastery of therapeutic regimens and management of the various products available.
Any delay or error in treatment generally results in irrecoverable visual loss.

Treatments are thus made available to the patient:

  • AVASTIN®, LUCENTIS® and EYLEA® and soon by Brolucizumab.
  • Measurement and monitoring of visual acuity by a system dedicated to low vision (ETDRS scale) offering the best support for deciding on reprocessing.
  • Latest generation OCT and OCTA.
  • Therapeutic regimens for personalized care (Treat and extend, PRN, fixed..).

All other retinal pathologies

The expertise includes all other retinal pathologies (vascular occlusions, ocular sickle cell disease, COATS disease, ocular tumors, heredodegenerative diseases, CRSC, etc.)
